Some assets in the library are marked as VIP. These assets require an active eligible GAON VIP membership before they can be downloaded.

Your current membership level is shown next to your username in the header and in your account page. The available membership levels are VIP, VIP+, Mega VIP and the legacy Ultimate VIP level.

Membership controls access; it does not change the actual asset files or how they are installed in Unreal Engine.

An asset becomes VIP when it is marked as a VIP asset in the GAON library. VIP status is a library access rule, not an Unreal Engine compatibility rule.

That means a VIP asset can have the same installation process and engine requirements as a standard asset. The difference is simply who can access its download.

The asset can be visible in the catalog while its download remains restricted. Make sure you are logged into the correct GAON account and that your VIP membership is active.

If your membership is active but access still looks wrong, check the Membership section of your account or contact Support.

Direct Download sends the file directly through GAON’s download server. After the verification step, the browser downloads the file normally.

Telegram Download generates a temporary download flow through the GAON Telegram bot. It can be useful when you prefer receiving the file through Telegram, but it requires a Telegram account and the file must be available through the Telegram service.

Both methods refer to the same library asset; the delivery method is what changes.

A direct download can be unavailable when the file is missing from the download server, is being prepared, or the service is temporarily unavailable.

When this happens, return to the asset page and try again later. If the problem persists, open a support ticket and include the asset name and Unreal Engine version.

Telegram downloads use a separate delivery service. An asset may be visible in the GAON catalog before its Telegram copy is linked and ready.

In that situation, use Direct Download or try Telegram again later. A Telegram account is required for Telegram downloads.

Download and extract the asset first if it is delivered as a ZIP or RAR archive. Then check what the package contains:

• Project/Content files: place or migrate the content into your Unreal project as appropriate.
• Plugins: place the plugin in your project’s Plugins folder (or the appropriate engine plugin location), then open Unreal Engine and enable it if required.
• Marketplace-style content: follow the asset’s included documentation when it provides a specific installation method.

Always keep a backup of your project before importing a large or complex asset.

The engine version matters whenever the asset depends on features, APIs, plugins, shaders, materials, or project structures that changed between engine releases.

Version differences are especially important for assets that include plugins or native/binary components, newer rendering features, or systems introduced in a later Unreal Engine release. In those cases, using the matching version listed by the asset is strongly recommended.

For simpler content such as meshes, textures, basic materials, animations, and other mostly-content-only packages, nearby engine versions can sometimes work without major changes.

That does not guarantee compatibility. A package may still depend on newer features or settings even when the main assets look simple. When a matching version exists in the GAON catalog, it is the safest choice.

When your target Unreal Engine version is available, using the matching asset version is the safest approach. It minimizes migration work and reduces the chance of missing features or broken dependencies.

If an exact version is not available, a nearby version may still work depending on the contents of the asset. Start with a backup project and test the package before building important work on top of it.

Use the heart button on an asset to add it to Favorites. You can access your saved assets from the Favorites page in your account menu.

When GAON has multiple versions of the same asset, the asset page includes an Other available versions of this asset on the website section with links to the other versions.

Each entry takes you directly to that version’s own catalog page.
